Sjogren’s EC roll straighteners offer outstanding performance and versatility.

Sjogren Industries, Inc. has applied its progressive engineering and manufacturing improvements to the style of roll straighteners widely used in Europe and on European manufactured wire-industry equipment. Many North American companies have also taken advantage of this high-quality, metric straightener.

Our EC straighteners are built to hold the tightest tolerances in the industry (+/- 0.025mm). They are manufactured with precision ground plates, instead of cold-rolled bar stock, which enables the roller centerlines to be as close as possible. This makes it easier to set the wire and reduce its twisting. The adjustable gib minimizes the torsion effect on the wire and
improves the unit’s overall rigidity. The locking cam handles provide positive locking of the adjustable roll plate to prevent accidental opening and minimize wear on the roll plate. These unique features allow end users to experience reduced setting time and improved wire straightness.

Sjogren’s precision grooved rolls are standard on all of our straightening units and available in vee- and radius-groove designs, as well as specialty shapes. They are machined in our facility to maintain the highest quality and consistency in the industry. Tight tolerances assure performance and life of the rolls. Ball bearings with steel cages and synthetic greases are used for each grooved roll to allow for higher operating temperatures and higher load-carrying capabilities. The results are faster line speeds and improved production rates.

Sjogren EC straighteners can accommodate wire diameters from 0 to 15mm. Modular straightener sections are available in multiple grooved-roll configurations—5 to 13 rolls per section. Brackets are used to connect 2-plane units to offer 8 different mounting orientations. It is this flexibility that makes these straighteners suitable for a variety of
applications.
