Straight Wire Is the Key to Quality Springs and Forms

Using wire that is not straight and free of memory will result in springs that are inconsistent in length and diameter, or rings that will not hold The specified flatness tolerance.

To eliminate these problems, Sjogren suggests introducing a 2-plane straightening unit prior to entering the spring making or wire forming equipment. This will remove the cast and helix of the wire and provide the appropriate amount of back tension necessary to produce a consistent final product.

Sjogren offers several styles of state-of-the-art roll straighteners to be used in conjunction with spring making and wire forming equipment. Models specifically designed for use with European manufactured wire-industry equipment are also available.
