Sjogren Industries, Inc., Opens New Manufacturing Division in
Worcester, Massachusetts

Massachusetts-based Sjogren Industries, Inc., the U.S. market leader and major worldwide competitor in the wire tooling industry, announced this week that they have acquired the assets of S.P. Stevens Manufacturing Corp. of Worcester, Massachusetts to establish a new manufacturing division. The new division, Sjogren Manufacturing, Inc., will produce a portion of Sjogren’s existing wire tooling product line, as well as offer high precision, sub-contract machining services.
The driving force behind this decision was to provide wire tooling customers with faster turnaround times and competitive pricing without sacrificing quality. In addition, customers will benefit from Sjogren’s 75 years of manufacturing and assembly experience.
"This new division has the manpower and equipment needed to streamline the production of our wire tooling product line," said Carl P. Sjogren, president of Sjogren Industries, Inc. "We listened to what our customer base was asking us to provide and discovered that it was much more cost-effective to acquire an existing machine shop, such as S.P. Stevens, than it would be to expand our current facility in Oxford. This means we will be able to process orders faster and offer more competitive pricing."

Sjogren Manufacturing, Inc., will be based in Worcester, Massachusetts and plans to employ all of S.P. Stevens current staff. Sjogren will also continue to provide sub-contract machining services to S.P. Stevens’ customers. Peter Athanas will stay on as Sjogren Manufacturing’s operations manager to ensure a smooth transition for both the employees and customers.
